Today's project by Scor-pal Designer Steph Ackerman:

Good morning, Steph here and we had the pleasure of working with Core-dinations cardstock this month.  I love the rich colors of this cardstock and the many ways you can use it.

I chose to create a combination card/envelope.

The Kraft-Core cardstock is a combination of rich colors on one side and kraft on the other. I used a sheet of the red Kraft-Core for the base of my card, cutting 2 pieces 5 1/2" x 11".  I then scored each piece at the 5 1/2" center point.

Lining up the center of each piece, I cut them on a diagonal to create the flaps.

Adhere the 2 pieces together on the square panel so that a card is formed.

Using the diagonal cuts, flip them over to use the Kraft side. Trim them to fit the flaps and then emboss with an embossing folder.   Since I was going with a winter woodland scene, I chose to emboss with a wood embossing folder.  Lightly ink the edges before adhering to the card.

Add a strip of red cardstock across the center of the card.  Print a digital image from Cornish Heritage Farms and color with Copic Markers. Using Spellbinders circle dies, die cut and lightly ink the image with Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink.   Cut a larger Spellbinders circle using the green cardstock from the Graphic 45 collection.

Cut a panel of green to fit inside the envelope and adhere a punched tab to the right corner.  Using the Scor-pal, score 3 lines each 1/4" apart along the bottom edge of the card to create a decorative finish.

I stamped a sentiment which was then die cut with Spellbinders circle dies in 2 sizes. After inking the edges, I placed it on the panel slightly above the final score line.  I did not want it to show above the stamped image on the front.

And the finished envelope and card.

My next project is a small gift package using papers from the Graphic 45 collection.  This cute package could be used for all kinds of small gifts for the holidays.

Cut red cardstock 4" x 4" and score around every 1". Cut in on 4 sides and fold to create the bottom of the package.  Then add Scor-Tape around the entire piece as this will hold the package together.

Cut green cardstock 5 1/2" x 9" and mark the center of the bottom.  Using a Sizzix Embossing Folder, emboss the tree onto the cardstock (being sure to emboss at the center point), then sand to remove some of the color.

Gently fold this piece around the box.   At the back, where the paper overlaps, add some additional Scor-Tape and gently adhere the pieces together.

Cut a 1" x 9" strip of red cardstock and score in half. Once folded, add Scor-Tape to both sides and gently fold around the top of the box to finish off the top edge.

Punch 2 holes in the top and add twine to tie it shut.

Decorate the tree with assortment embellishments.  I used  Dew Drops from the Robin's Nest to decorate my tree.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Our final project comes from Lisa Andrews

Lisa A. here, today I made a simply and easy gift card holder and vintage looking snowman gift tags for your last minute gifts. These would be great for teacher gifts, secret santa gifts or for anyone on your gift lists! I also made a quick card.

Supplies:
Core'dinations Vintage card stock
white and sparkly red card stock
Scor-Tape
Scor-Pal
Hot Glue
black jewels
various punches and embossing folders

Let's start with the gift card holder. I saw this idea for a gift card holder at a scrapbook store here in town and went home to make one of my own right away!

Start with a piece of 5 1/2" x 6 3/4" Core'dinations vintage red, score at 1 1/2" on each side.

Assemble box with Scor-Tape

For the top start with a white piece of card stock 5 3/4" x 4 1/2", punch around the edges, you really don't need to be perfect with this since you will fold the sides in to create the top of the box. Score at 1" on all sides. Using a punch, punch a snowflake on the left bottom of the lid. Assemble the top using Scor-Tape.

Cut a piece of sparkly card stock 2 1/2" x 3 3/4" and adhere to the underside of the snowflake.

Next, we are going to make the snowman rosette. Using a 1 1/2" x 12" piece of vintage Core-dinations card stock, score every 1/2", turn the card stock over and score again starting at 1/4" and every 1/2" from there. Fold the card stock into an accordion  using the indented score mark as your mountains and raised up score mark as your valley. Attach the end of the card stock together with Scor-Tape.

Using a 1 3/4" punch, punch a circle and hot glue it to the back of the rosette.

For the snowman's hat, use a 1 3/4" x 6" piece of vintage black Core'dinations card stock and score every 1/2", turn the card stock over and score again starting at 1/4" and every 1/2" from there. Fold the card stock into an accordian, using the indented score mark as your mountains and raised up score mark as your valley.

Gather the bottom of the card stock together and hot glue to the snowman's head.

Using a piece of vintage black Core'dinations card stock, cut a piece 3/4" wide for the brim of the hat. Don't forget to sand all of the edges with sandpaper to give it that vintage look. Cut a carrot nose out of vintage orange Core'dinations card stock and adhere it to your snowman. Add black jewels for eyes. Repeat three times for three tags. Don't forget to stamp a message on the back!

Now we are going to make a little gift box for your gift tags. Starting with an 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of vintage green Core'dinations card stock, score 2 1/2" on all sides. Cut 1 3/4" from the corners as shown below.

Punch a snowflake on the front of the box.

Sand your edges and adhere box together with Scor-Tape.

Thanks for joining us this week. I hope you've gotten a lot of inspiration to make to homemade this year!

First up, Scor-pal designer Lisa Silver:

Hello! It's Lisa with a project today using the wonderful papers by Core'dinations and my favorite Scor-Pal tools.

Snowflake Cube Ornament

Supplies:
Paper: Core'dinations Signature Series (Graphic 45) in Bon Voyage GX-3100-06 (cut in 8.5" x 11" piece), vellum
Tools: Scor-Pal Scoring board in Inches, Scor-Tool, Scor-Tape and Core'dinations Sand It Set (sanding block and dust cloth)
Other: Snowflake die by Sizzix, silk ribbons by May Arts, Maraschino twine by The Twinery, corner rounder (1/4") by Zutter, precision scissors, small bell

Template:

Begin with a 8.5" x 11" piece of Core'dinations cardstock.
Score to match the template above using a Scor-Pal Scoring Board in Inches and Scor-Tool.

Along the 8.5" side, score at 0.5", 3", 5.5" and 8".
Along the 11" side, score at 0.5", 3", 5.5", 8" and 10.5".
Add a score mark (the dotted red line) at 2.5" and 6", carefully skipping one section as pictured above.
Remove all the shaded sections with a precision scissors.
Round the corners of all the flaps with a 1.4" corner rounding tool.
When creating a box like this, I find it easier to put together if I round the corners of the smaller flaps.

Using a small punch or die, add design to each side of the box. Add dimension to the box by sanding gently with the Sand It tool set. Add Scor-Tape to the box flaps.
Gently fold the box along the score lines to determine the placement of the Scor-Tape. Sand the box a bit for added dimension.

Flip to the "inside" of the box and add small squares of vellum behind the snowflakes, using Scor-Tape to adhere. I also determined that I wanted my box to hang from the point, so I added a loop of ribbon to one corner, using Scor-Tape. I also adhered a small bell to the bottom strung with twine.

Remove all the Scor-Tape strips and adhere to close the box.

Enjoy!

Next, Scor-pal Designer Tya Smith
Hey everyone - Tya here with my projects featuring the amazing cardstock packs by Core'dinations. I have always loved using Core'dinations cardstock because of the beautiful contrasting colors that pop out when they are embossed or sanded!

I have made 2 different cards today featuring the Neutral and Dark Cardstock paper packs.

Along with making boxes and bags and other 3-D projects, I love using my Scor-Pal to help make crisp and clean accents and embellishments for my paper crafting projects. My youngest daughter is into origami as of late and so when we were looking for some projects for her to do for Christmas we stumbled across these 2 fun folds that we wanted to try out. I decided to add these origami folded shapes to a couple of Christmas cards. The fun thing about these 2 cards is they have a detachable tag on one card and an ornament on the other that your recipient will be able to use after they receive their card. The Core'dinations Cardstock folded beautifully and was so much fun to use with my embossing folders.(My latest obsession!) :)

Here are my projects:

First up is the beautiful origami Christmas tree card:

Supplies:
4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Chocolate Mocha Core'dinations Cardstock from Neutral Pack
4 squares cut from Olive Core'dinations Cardstock from Neutral Pack
3 inches, 2 1/2 inches, 2 inches, and 1 1/2 inch size squares
3 3/4 x 5 and 1 x 4 1/4 Cream Cardstock
3 x 5 Kraft cardstock for the tag
4 x 5 1/4 Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Pattern Paper in Red Snowflake
3/4 x 4 1/4 Teresa Collins Pattern Paper in Red Snowflake (Green Chevron Size)
Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage Jewel Brad, Merry and Christmas Sticker from Christmas Cottage Sticker Sheet
Green Twine
Swirl Embossing Folder from Tim Holtz
Scallop Border Punch from Martha Stewart

Steps to make the Origami Tree:
Do these steps for all 4 of the cardstock squares-

Step 1-
Score the square in half and then in half again

Step 2-
Line square up at the 6 inch score mark and score diagonally in both directions
(If you want to emboss your cardstock with an embossing folder now is the time to do this before you move onto Step 3.)

Step 3-
Using the Scor-Pal Tool, fold all score marks until all angles are folded. Turn the paper so it is in a square shape instead of a diamond shape. Pinch the 2 sides into the center as shown.

Step 4-
Take the two top facing corners and fold into the the center line and down to make the points as shown:

Do these steps to all 4 of the cardstock squares.

Step 5-
Glue and layer the 4 cardstock squares together as shown:

Glue the tree shape to the oatmeal tag and create the card as shown in the example.
I made a small pocket on the front of the card with the cream cardstock and then added the green chevron pattern paper border that I cut with a scallop edge punch to the front.

Ornament Card:

Supplies:
4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Chocolate Mocha Core'dintations Cardstock from Neutrals Pack
(2) 3 inch cardstock squares cut from Roasted Pepper from Core'dinations Darks Pack
4 x 5 1/4 Teresa Collins Cottage Sentiments Pattern Paper
3 3/4 x 5  Cream Cardstock
Teresa Collins Chrismas Cottage stripe and Joy Sticker, die-cut circle in green and Cheer Bingo card from die -cut sheet, and Green Snowflake brad
Linen Twine

To create the ornament:
(If you want to use your embossing folders do this now)
(Do this for both squares)

Step 1-
Score square in half both ways

Step 2-
Line the square up at the 6 inch mark and score diagonally in both directions

Step 3-
Fold all the score lines with the Scor-Pal Tool. Snip on all the sides on the middle score mark about halfway down.

Step 4-
Fold all of the corners in and glue down.

Step 5-
Layer the 2 shapes together to make the ornament shape. Add the Green circle die cut and the Joy Sticker to the front. Add the linen twine to the top section.

Create the card base and as shown and add the ornament to the front of the card

Thanks for joining me and letting me share these projects with you!
Happy Scoring and Happy Holidays!
