Pinspired - Inspiration from our Pinterest Board hosted by Toni

Hey there, crafty friends!  It's come around again to my turn to host a "Pinspired" post.  I have always found step cards to be fun to make.  They have a great "Wow" factor.  I have seen many step cards on Pinterest, but usually they are bigger than your average sized card and sometimes in metric.  I like for my cards to fit in regular size envelopes.

Of course, it fits in with this month's More Than One Score challenge as the theme is Easter/Spring or Anything Goes. Without any further chatter, here is my A2 sized side step card.

For this project, you will need:

  • Scor-Pal
  • Scor-Mat
  • One piece of 4 1/4" x 11" card stock
  • Craft knife
  • Ruler
  • Pencil
  • Stamps
  • Ink
  • Markers
  • Dies
  • Scissors
  • Stampin' sponge
  • Dimensional Adhesive

Place your 4 1/4" x 11" piece of card stock with the 11" side of the paper against the top of the Scor-Pal. Score at the 1" mark down 2". Score at the 2" mark down 2". (It may be helpful to measure and lightly mark 2" on the card stock with a pencil.)

Score at the 3" mark down 3/4".  Score at the 3 3/4" mark down 3/4". Score at the 7 1/4" mark down 3/4". (It may be helpful to measure and lightly mark 3/4" on the card stock with a pencil.)

Score at 6 1/2" from 3/4" to 2". (Again, it may be helpful to measure and mark both 3/4" and 2").

Turn 180 degrees and score from 5 1/2" down to 2 1/4" (It may be helpful to measure and lightly mark 2 1/4" on the card stock with a pencil.)

Rotate 90 degrees so that the 5 1/2" score is against the left side of the Scor-Pal. Insert your Scor-Mat under your card stock and cut vertically on the 2 1/4" line from the 1" score to the 6 1/2" score.

Cut vertically on the 3 1/2" line from the 3" score to the 7 1/4" score.

Flip paper over and begin to crease fold lines. Begin creasing with the score at 5 1/2", then the score at 4 1/2" and then finally the score at 3 3/4".  The mountain and valley folds below sort themselves out when creasing those top scores.

Finally, decorate as desired!  I opted to go with an Easter theme and used grass and cloud dies to help set the scene for my chick and his eggs.  Those images were stamped, colored and fussy cut.  Lastly, I stamped a sentiment, drew a speech bubble around it, trimmed it out and popped it up.

I hope you give this A2 sized side step card a try. Thanks for stopping by!

Scor-Pal More than One Score Challenge March #68 - Anything Goes or Spring/Easter

Welcome to the 68th Monthly Challenge here at Scor-Pal!
We love showing our projects to you and now it's your chance to show your creations to us!
We are making some changes to the challenges this year, we will have a theme that the Design Team will follow, and we would love you to follow too, but if you don't want to you can do an "Anything Goes" creation as long as it follows the general rules
Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score"
We have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to get you eager to enter.

We have a nice set of samples from the Design Team, just click on their names to go to their blogs for more details on their creations.
