Market Street Stamps Week- Day 5

We are excited to be bringing  you a special week here on the Scor-pal blog featuring projects created not only with Scor-pal products but, also, some great stamps from our friends at Market Street Stamps.  We hope you will take time to stop by each day this week to see what the designers are up to. While you're here be sure to leave a comment each day for your chance to win a Scor-buddy and some Market Street Stamps that will be given away to one randomly selected visitor. Of course, you'll also want to hop over and pay a visit to the Market Street Stamps blog because they are featuring Scor-pal and Market Street projects as well!!

Deadline to enter for the random drawing is midnight Sunday April 22.

Today is our final day of projects with Market Street Stamps. Today's featured projects come from Scor-pal designer Steph Ackerman.

Scoring Tool: Scor-Pal; Stamp: Market Street Stamps, Comforting Florals; Ink: Clearsnap Cakewalk Dye Ink, Black Mix’d Media Inx, Twinkling Watermark Ink; Embossing Powder: Clearsnap Top Boss Clear; Brads: Basic Grey

For this first card I inked glossy cardstock by running ColorBox's CakeWalk Inkpad across the cardstock. Once it dried, I used the Comforting Florals Stamp set  to create my card. I stamped the sentiment with Black Mix’d Media Inx in the center of the panel, then stamped the flowers in the corners. I then matted this panel with black cardstock.

Using Twinkling Watermark Ink, I stamped the flowers on cream cardstock and embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder. I mounted the sentiment in the center of the card and scored around it with my Scor-Pal, adding brads to the flower centers before assembling my card.

Scoring Tool: Scor-Pal; Stamp: Market Street Stamps, Believing Butterflies; Ink: Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx - Denim; Embossing Powder: Clearsnap Top Boss Clear; Dies: Sizzix

For my next card, I cut cardstock 5 1/2" x 11" and scored it in half creating a top fold card. I scored 5 lines across the bottom of the card. Using the  Believing Butterfly stamps, I stamped three butterflies with Denim Mix’d Media Inx, embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder and cut them out. Adding foam adhesives to the butterflies, I added them across the score lines.

The sentiment was stamped in Denim Mix’d Media Inx and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, then die cut into a scalloped circle. It was added to the card with foam adhesives on top of blue and black die cut circles.

Today's project comes form Scor-pal designer  Tami Mayberry:

For my project I decided to create a quick and easy pocket card with a see through window. This card has a pull out tag for a personal note. It measures 4.25"x5.5" so it can either be given in an envelope or the pocket can serve as the envelope. I used the Cane background and Compass stamps from Market Street Stamps along with my Scor-Pal and 1/2" Scor-Tape.

I began with a 5 1/4" x 11" piece of card stock. With the longest side along the top edge I scored at 5 1/2". Then I rotated and scored at 1/2" and 4 3/4".

I stamped the front of the pocket with the Cane stamp. Then I  cut a scalloped circle from the front of the pocket for the stamped image to show through and a half circle at the top edge.

I folded the pocket and secured the edges with 1/2" Scor-Tape.

I cut a piece of white card stock slightly smaller than the pocket, stamped the image positioned to show through the window and added a piece of ribbon.

Here is the final result:
Scor-pal Scoring Board; Scor-Tape; Stamps: Market Street Stamps; Ribbon: May Arts; Markers: Shinhan Touch Twin; Inks: Clearsnap Fluid Chalk (Bard Red, Dark Brown); Petite Scalloped Circle die: Spellbinders

Deadline to enter for the random drawing is midnight Sunday April 22.

Today we have a birdhouse card featuring Scor-Pal and Market Street Stamps by Scor-pal designer Gini Cagle

Cut a 5 x 5" square of paper for the main portion of your house.  Line the paper up in the right hand corner of the Scor-Pal and score at 4" and 4.5". Turn a quarter of a turn and repeat the scores.  Keep turning and scoring until all four sides are done.

Cut away the four corners as shown.  Fold all score lines in towards the wrong side of the print.

Using a punch or die, cut a circle in the middle of the house body. Add Score-tape to the outside folds, and form a box. Cut a piece of coordinating paper 3" x 3".

Use the Scor-tape to attach the box to the 3 x 3 square.

For the roof, cut a piece of paper 3" x 4". On the 4" side, make a small score in the middle (2" spot), just to mark the middle. Line this score mark up on a chosen line of the Scor-pal, and the bottom corner. Now you are ready to score your diagonal lines. Score a parallel line at 1/2" and 1" on either side of the roof. Cut along each of the outer most lines, and fold the scores.

After the scores are folded, you can add Scor-tape to make you roof dimensional.

Attach the roof and your house is ready to be added to your project.

The Cheep Talk Stamp from Market Street Stamps was paper pieced using American Crafts papers from the Garden Cafe collection.

Market Street Stamps Week- Day 2

We are excited to be bringing  you a special week here on the Scor-pal blog featuring projects created not only with Scor-pal products but, also, some great stamps from our friends at Market Street Stamps.  We hope you will take time to stop by each day this week to see what the designers are up to. Deadline to enter for the random drawing is midnight Sunday April 22.

Today's project was created by Scor-pal designer Katie Tate.

Products Needed:
Cardstock and Designer Paper
Chipboard Coasters
Fringe Scissors
Dark Brown ink
Black ink for stamping images
Coloring medium for stamped images

Cut cardstock to 8 ¼” by 6 ½”.
Score at 2” and 6 ¼” along the 8 ¼” side.
Turn a ¼ turn and score at 3” and 4 ½” along the 6 ½” side.

Burnish all score lines and cut as indicated in the photo.

Create the box from the scored cardstock using Scor-Tape for strength.

Cover purchased coasters with your choice of paper. I always pick up items like this from the clearance bins at craft stores.

Using the Tiki Hut and 2 sentiment stamps from the set add decoration to your coasters. I would recommend sealing them with a product like Mod Podge before using.

Cut two strips of cardstock 12” by 1 ½”. Create a pleated strip by scoring at ½” and then at ¾” and repeat at ½” followed by ¼” alternating increments.
Burnish firmly to create the pleat.

Use Scor-Tape to hold the pleats in place. Using Fringing scissors snip along the bottom end.

Attached the strip to a prescored roof made from cardstock measuring 8” by 4 ¼” scored at 2” and 3” along the 8” length. Ink the edges of the fringe.
Add the second strip overlapping with edge at the 2” score.

Attached the roof to the back of the box and decorate the box to resemble a Tiki Hut with strips of coordinating paper. I added a sentiment from the Tiki Time set.

The coasters fit in easily and the fringed roof lifts to allow easy access to them.

I completed the set with coordinating invitations decorated with the Sip On stamp and images from the Tiki Time set.

Inside is a computer generated invitation decorated with two sentiments from the Tiki Time set.

The complete set ready for your next Girls Night In!

Market Street Stamps Week!!

Today's featured projects come from Scor-pal designers Diane Zechman and Virginia Nebel.

First up we have two ideas from Diane.

I created 2 projects for our hop with Market Street stamps today. First I made a Gate Fold card using the Believing Butterfly stamp set and my Scor-Pal.

Stamps: Market Street Believing Butterfly; paper- white cardstock; ink- SU! Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Memento Rich Cocoa; accessories- Scor-Pal, Cuttlebug Textile folder, Cinnamon Stickles.

This butterfly is so pretty and I decided to stamp it in different colors and attach them to a white-on-white card to really make them pop! The light purple and coral butterflies are only attached to the panel on the right.

I stamped the sentiment in the same colors and cut out select words to glue on top of the sentiment stamped in brown ink.

For my second project, I used the Comfort Food stamp set to create a 6x6 recipe page.

Stamps- Market Street Comfort Food; paper- white, SU! Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Everyday Enchantment paper; ink- SU! Pool Party, Memento Tuxedo Black; accessories- Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, Copics, 2 ½” and 2 3/8” circle punches, Aleene’s True Snow, Cinnamon Stickles, Sizzix Fashionable Hearts Embosslits.

The patterned paper strip across the bottom was pleated using the Scor-Pal. For the pleated strip, I scored a 12” piece of paper at 3/4", 1”, 1 3/4", 2”, 2 3/4", 3”, etc. Then I accordion folded it and attached it with Scor-Tape.

The scalloped layer underneath the pie image was embossed by scoring in opposite directions in a criss-cross pattern.

The pie was colored with markers and I applied Aleene’s True Snow to the whipped topping to create additional dimension. The words “Favorite” and “Recipe” were placed on an acrylic block in a curve so they would match the round layers when stamped.

Here’s the recipe directions if you’d like to try it…

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!
Diane

Next, another great project using the same stamps from Virginia:

Hi. It’s Virginia here and I am so happy to be playing along this week’s Scor-pal cross promotion with Market Street Stamps. When I saw the Market Street’s Comfort Food (#MSS-31) stamp set  I immediately thought about baked treats and creating a triple-pocket card. This pocket card could accompany home-baked goodies and sharing the recipe at the same time!

Supplies: American Crafts pattern paper, Lifestyles diecuts, Marvy Uchida punch, Copic markers, Twinery twine

Start with an 8 ½ x 11 double sided pattern paper. I would suggest using paper with a random pattern to avoid ‘upside down’ pocket folds.

Score the paper in half vertically and horizontally. With the 8 ½ edge along the top fence of the Scor-pal, lightly score at the 1 ¾ inches (stop at around the 1 ¾ inch mark which you can use the vertical ruler on the Scor-pal. Repeat a second light score-line at the 5 ½ mark (stop at around the 5 ½ mark on the vertical ruler). These light score lines are used as registration guides for your folding so you do not need to score too heavily.

To make the pocket folds. Mountain fold the top left corner to the 1 ¾ registration line, valley fold the top right corner to the 5 ½ registration line, valley fold the bottom left corner to the 4 ¼ center score line. Cut along the 5 ½ score line from the edge and stop at the center (see the cut line in photo)

Folding sequence: Fold the top portion left, bring up the bottom portion and then fold the last remaining flap around to the back. Secure at the left edge with Scor-tape.

Due to the thickness of your paper, you may need to trim along the top to even out the edge.

Have fun embellishing!
