Mid Month Tutorial hosted by Lois

I'm the hostess for the March "More Than One Score" challenge on the Scor-Pal blog.  This month's theme is Soft and Subtle -- think pastels/babies, etc.  I am part of a weekly challenge team (CCEE Stampers), and recently one of the challenges was a Lever Card.  I had never made one before; so I checked out the tutorial the hostess provided and, after one discarded effort, I made one.  How fun was this!  I had seen dies which make this type of card, but I had never tried it using a scoring board and stylus.  So today I'll show you how I made the card which appeared on the Scor-Pal blog on the first of March.

To start my card, I cut two pieces of blue cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  One piece is scored at 4 1/4".  This will be the outside of the card.  On the side that would be the front, I cut a window 1" from each of the four sides.

Score the other piece of cardstock at 4 1/4" and 6 3/8".  Go in 2 1/8" from the left side and make a 1" scoreline down from the top and up from the bottom.

To make the lever on the inside panel that will go through the "window" on the front of the card, go in 1" from the left side and cut a slit that starts at the 1" mark and goes down to 1" from the bottom.  Then cut from the slit (top and bottom) over to the 1" score lines.

When folded, this is what that panel will look like.  Folds are valley/mountain/valley.

Apply adhesive to the back side of the inner panel and glue to the inside of the outer panel.  I have found that liquid glue works best for this.  It allows a little bit of time for you to line up the panels perfectly.  The "lever" should fit nicely in the window.  If it's a too-tight fit, you can trim just a bit off the top and bottom of the "lever."

You can now decorate the card as you like.  I cut a piece of patterned paper 4" x 5 1/4" and cut out the center 7/8" in on all four sides.

I then cut four pieces of patterned paper for the inside -- 3 strips 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" and one piece 3 1/8" x 5 1/4".

The two right-hand strips can be glued into the card at this point.  The other two pieces need to be fitted around the "window" and "lever," as follows:

On the remaining narrow strip, cut in 1" from the right side, 7/8" from the top and 7/8" from the bottom; then make a vertical cut between those two cuts.  Glue this to the left panel of the inside of the card.

On the fourth strip of patterned paper, cut in 1 1/8" from the left side, 7/8" from the top and bottom.  Cut down from the top and up from the bottom to cut off the excess.  This piece will cover the "lever" section of the card.

After adhering all four pieces of patterned paper, your card should look like this.

I then die-cut all the accessory pieces to be placed on my card, as well as some circles and a "congrats" for the front.

After completed, here again is my lever card.

Welcome to the 56th Monthly Challenge here at Scor-Pal!

Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score"

Hey there, crafty friends!  It's come around again to my turn to host a "Pinspired" post.  I hope you find this one fun and easy when you need a little bit of cute packaging.  Of course, it fits in with this month's More Than One Score challenge as the theme is Anything Goes.  There's a Design Team call this month too.  This is your chance to shine, if you have ever entertained the idea of joining a design team.

Without any further chatter, here is my Folded Tea Holder. I've also seen it called a Double Pocket Treat Holder.  When I saw these projects on Pinterest, I knew that I could put my Scor-Envi to use.

For this project, you will need:

• Scor-Pal
• Scor-Envi
• One piece of 6" x 6" double-sided designer paper
• Hole punch
• 7" length of ribbon
• Stamps
• Ink
• Card stock scraps for embellishment
• Dimensional adhesive

Insert Scor-Envi into Scor-Pal.  Place 6" by 6" piece of designer paper into Scor-Pal with the top at  the 6" score-line with its right edge against the Scor-Envi. Be sure to line up the bottom with the 6" score line as well.  Score at 6".

Flip the designer paper over and line up top and bottom with 6" mark.  Again the right edge will be aligned with the Scor-Envi.  Score at 5 1/2" and at 6 1/2".

Flip the designer paper over and rotate 90 degrees.  Line up the top and bottom of the designer paper with the 6" mark.  The right edge will be aligned with the Scor-Envi.  Score at 4 1/2" and at 7 1/2".

Burnish all of your score lines.

Fold in the sides scored at 4 1/2" and 7 1/2".

Fold the top half down, covering up the sides.  This fold happens on the 6" score line.

Fold the front and back half up on the 5 1/2" and 6 1/2" score lines.  This creates a pocket on both sides and exposes the other pattern on the designer paper.

Punch a hole in the top, through both sides and secure with a ribbon. Embellish as desired.

Fill the front and back pockets with any treat.  Pictures here are single tea bags.  Ghiradelli Chocolate or other square chocolates would also work well for this treat holder.

Mid Month Tutorial hosted by Patti

Hi there, crafty friends!

I'm here today with a photo tutorial for these crazy fun, super tiny little gift bags.

When finished, they stand 1 7/8" tall, and are 1.25" square, and hold 2 Hugs or Kisses.

I cannot take credit for the design, but I'm sorry to say that I don't recall whose design it was!

Here are the supplies you will need:

Scor-Pal (I used Scor-Pal Eighths), Scor-Tape, (I used 3/8" tape) Scissors, Hole Punch, Twine

and...patterned paper.

You can use cardstock, but these bags are so tiny that paper actually works best.

                      

Cut your paper to 5.5" x 3"

Score the long side at: 1.25", 2.5", 3.75", and 5"

Score the short side at: 1"

Remove the small section at the bottom, and trim your tab at a bit of an angle.

Cut on each of your fold lines, cutting only up to the 1" fold line.

Mitre the back and two side tabs in a bit, but leave the tab on the front as is.

Add your Scor-Tape to your little flap, and create your box!

Ta-Da!

 Here's what your box looks like. Now you can see the three angled tabs better.

Add Scor-Tape to your 'front' box flap.

Fold in the three angled tabs, and secure them with the 'front' tab.

Add two Hershey's Hugs or Kisses (or another tiny candy)

After your goodies are inside, gently pinch in your two sides.

Holding tightly, punch two holes for your ribbon or twine.

Add twine and/or decorate as desired!

 Here are the finished bags - perfect for carrying in your purse to give friends, postal workers, etc.
