Quick and Easy: Flap Cards

Today's card is a flap card created by Scor-pal designer Diane Zechman. 

This is another quick and easy card style that can be created no time using your Scor-pal.  To create a square flap card such as this cut a 4.25" x 11" piece of card stock. With the 11" edge along the top of your grid score at the 4.25" groove and the 8.5" groove. Fold the panels inward, trim top flap to desired shape and decorate! Diane's card has a pointed flap but you can easily decorate and shape the flap using you favorite border punches or die cuts. Diane also recommends a piece of clear stick back velcro to hold the card shut. Other options include magnetic closures or simply tie shut with a piece of ribbon or twine.

Quick and Easy: Gate Fold Cards

Gate Fold cards are a great way to add interest to any card and move beyond the usual two panel card. With the Scor-pal this type of card is also quick and easy.
The card featured below is an A2 (4.25"x5.5") card that I created in a matter of minutes thanks to my Scor-pal and the special markings. To create this type of card simply cut an 8.5" x 5.5" piece of card stock to be used as a base (dark brown in this example). Place the card stock with the longer edge along the top of the Scor-pal and score lines at the 2 1/8" and 6 3/8" grooves. This is where quick and easy comes in to place- These two measurements can be easily recognized as are each marked with a small dot. Once the score lines are created simply fold the panels in and decorate! For this sample I lined the two outer panels with a lighter card stock and added overlapping rectangles for the image and greeting.  There you have it, today's quick and easy creation!

Meet the Scor-pal Team-Virginia Nebel

I have been paper crafting for eight years and my favorite subject is my family. I love making fun and interactive albums to remember family vacations, celebrations and everyday memories. I live in beautiful Colorado! I have been crafting my whole life and love everything paper crafts! I have two small children that keep me hopping, both take after their momma and they love crafting right along with me. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 12 years. I have been stamping and coloring with copics for a year and a half and just recently started using Distress Inks. I love Distress Inks because they act so much like watercolors. I also love photography, mostly nature photography but I also love taking pictures of my kids. I have been on a handful of design teams and have really enjoyed all of the different teams. My Scor-Pal is my best friend! I can't wait to share all the crafting possibilities you can do with it.

I think it is time to tell more about me
I am kitty franken
I live in the Netherlands ( Holland) in Europe. I am almost 44 and married to Bert and we have son of 17 Rowdy
we have 1 dog Lord ( of the rings) 2 cats Pip and Beau and 1 ferret.
I work as a social nurse and
I have a small company in Holland..we sale scor-pal products in Europe...I made 4 books by myself with scor-pal ideas and the latest is in Dutch-Deutch-Francais and English.In cm and inch.. the books are a big hit because not anyone can design there own templates and ideas...at this moment we are thinking about our own company building in my hometown so we can do even more with scor-pal..we have small house so I cant do what I like to do al the time with my ever spinning head ( I always have ideas for scor-pal)
in October me and my husband are going to Canada..my dream is hopefully ...spotting whales in Canada...ever since I remember I have that dream but we don’t have whales in Holland ..lots of water but only small fish..

Meet the Scor-pal Team-Julie Koerber

Todays featured design team member is Julie Koerber.

If all I ever needed to know, I learned in kindergarten, I guess I should never quit coloring! I’m a gal who finds a kind of inner peace when she’s allowed to play with markers or paints to let her creativity flow. I’ve been stamping since 2000 and really, by accident. After a step aerobics class one Saturday, my sister-in-law forced me to go with her to one of those at-home stamping parties. It’s funny because – she left me there! Since then, I have gone on to be a card maker that’s been published in a handful of national card making magazines. Needless to say, I now consider inky fingers an accessory! Since 2007, I have been honored to serve on a handful of different design teams and really look forward to stretching my creativity with all that the Scor-Pal can do! I’m sitting here with some pretty talented designers – some of the best in the industry! I hail from South Central Montana where the deer and the antelope play. I’m proud to be called “wife” by my hubby, Ken, and “mom” by my two kiddos, Ellie and Cal. When I’m not getting crafty in my “mom cave,” I’m the editor of a regional women’s magazine called Yellowstone Valley Woman.
