Pinspired- Inspiration from our Pinterest Board by Nancy

Hello crafters! Nancy here today to show you a project I did that was inspired by the Scor-Pal Pinterest Board - a Box in a Bag! The first one shown is a little larger than the one below it.

I can't believe that in all the years of paper crafting that I have never made one of these. I was inspired by this piece.

I decided to go with a nautical theme because I recently purchased a pad of 12" paper at Michael's called "Coastal Cove" that included beachy and nautical papers.

You start by making a box - the "bag" portion of this project will be wrapped around this box, so you really don't see the box unless you look inside.

For the smaller project you will need a piece of cardstock measuring 3 x 3 and score at .5" all the way around.

For the medium piece, use a 4.5 x 4.5 piece of cardstock and score at 1" all around.

You can find the Scor-Pal here and Scor-Tape here.

Cut the tabs and add scor-tape as shown.

Assemble to make the box

Now you will begin the bag portion where you wrap decorative paper around the outside of the box.

For the small project use a piece of decorative paper measuring 3.5 x 8.5.

For the medium project use a piece of decorative paper measuring 5.5 x 11.

Place Scor-Tape on the inside of the decorative paper along the bottom and on one side.

Take your box about halfway on one side and start wrapping the paper around it. Take care to line up the bottom of the box with the bottom edge of the paper.

Continue moving the box along the bottom edge of the paper ..

Keep wrapping the box around the paper until you have completely covered the box.

Now you can start decorating. I used a small piece of coordinating paper and wrapped it around the bottom of the bag, and also used the same paper to make handles.

Add decorative elements and ribbon or twine to the front and you are done!

Here is a close up look at how I embellished mine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you check out the Scor-Pal Pinterest board for more inspiration!

Mid Month Tutorial by Steph

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is to create anything, just be sure it includes more than one score.

With Father's Day on the horizon, I created a card for Dad.

Cut cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Score each strip at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".

Use Scor-Tape to assemble the panels together.  Fold the outside panels creating a double gate fold card.

Cut pattern paper to fit inside the card.  Cut strips of pattern papers and cardstock to fit the flaps.  Die cut circles, adhering just the left side to the card.

Add a puffy car sticker on the circle so it becomes the focal element of the card.

Using a stamp from the Joy Clair Classic Father's Day stamp set, stamp Happy Father's Day on a strip of cardstock and adhere under the car.  Cut a panel for the center of the card using cardstock and pattern paper.  Score 1/4" along the pattern paper and adhere to the card.

 Thanks for stopping by.

Scor-Pal More than One Score Challenge June #71 - Anything Goes or Father's Day/Masculine

Welcome to the 71st Monthly Challenge here at Scor-Pal!
We love showing our projects to you and now it's your chance to show your creations to us!
This month we want to see your "Father's Day/Masculine" creations.
We are making some changes to the challenges this year, we will have a theme that the Design Team will follow, and we would love you to follow too, but if you don't want to you can do an "Anything Goes" creation as long as it follows the general rules
Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score"
We have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to get you eager to enter.

We have a nice set of samples from the Design Team, just click on their names to go to their blogs for more details on their creations.
