Teacher Gift with Janice

Hi, everyone! Janice here bringing you another easy to make teacher gift idea.  :) Check it out!

Tutorial
First, cut the outside cover to 8 1/2" x 6" and the inside cover to 9 1/2" x 6".  Using your Scor-Pal, score as shown below in my diagram.

Here are a few step by step pictures:

Score the inside cover at the marks shown below.

Fold at the score marks as shown here.

Score the outside cover as shown below.

Fold it along both score marks.

Place Scor-Tape along the inside edge of inside cover as shown below.

Peel off Scor-Tape backing and adhere to outside cover so that the pen holder section is raised.

Close the cover firmly along score lines once the inside cover is in place.

Glue notepad and sticky note pad in place. Place pen in pen holder area.

Decorate the outside cover as you wish!  This vintage school-themed paper line is from Authentique and I used Spellbinders Labels 18 to create my "notes" label.  The stamp is from a GinaK stamp set called "Organize it!"

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope this tutorial has inspired you to create your own easy to make notebook w/pen holder!  Have a wonderful day!

Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! With Gini Williams Cagle

We have a fun week of inspiration to share with you today from Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! Be sure to leave comments on our blogs this week to be in the running for great prizes.  VLVS will be giving away a couple of pounds of rubber stamps, and we will be giving away a Scor-Pal and a Scor-Envi.  The more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win!

I thought this hot air balloon stamp was so cool, when I saw it from Viva Las VegaStamps! and knew I had to have it.

This is a super easy fold card, but I think it's really nice for a more masculine type card.

Cut your paper 6 x 12 and score with your Scor-Pal at 3" and 6".  That's it!

Add a die cut frame to the front panel for your sentiment, and decorate how you like.

Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! Week with Katie Tate

Today I get to share my project with the fabulous Scor-Pal and Viva Las Vegas Stamps

I loved the stamps I chose and right away had an idea for a cute way to use them.

Project Recipe:
Stamps - Plate 1116
Medium - Copic Markers
Paper - Mementa
Die Cuts - Spellbinders
Brads - Unknown
Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal
Mat - Scor-Mat
Adhesive - Scor-Tape

For each drawer start with a piece of cardstock measuring 8 1/2" by 7". Score at 1" and 2", turn a 1/4 turn and repeat and repeat until all 4 sides are scored as in the photo.

Cut away the 3 squares on each corner as shown in the photo. Snip the remaining square to the score line to form a flap so you can create the corner.

A big tip is to cut the flap to make an angle as shown in the photo to make the corner easier to form and to make a crisper corner.

Add Scor-Tape as shown to the inside sides.

Turn over and add Scor-Tape to the flaps on the outside.

Form the drawer on the scored lines and use the Scor-Tool to create crisp edges from the inside out.

Each drawer is designed to fit the doll on the stamp plate.

To join the drawers a sleeve needs to made for each drawer. By creating each drawer individually means this project can be adapted to create as many drawers as you like. The sleeves are created from a piece of cardstock measuring 12" by 3". On the 12" side score at 2". 3" 7 1/2" and 8 1/2".

Check for a clean fit around the drawer and then create the sleeve using Scor-Tape to adhere. The drawer should fit snuggly in the sleeve. Add Scor-Tape on the outside to attach the drawers together.

The completed drawers before decoration.

Decorate the outside of the drawers with coordinating paper.

To create stability I made a top and base from a die cut piece with chipboard underneath it for strength. Attach to the top and bottom of the drawers with Scor-Tape.

I added a mirror backed with a decorative die to make the drawers into a pretty little girls dresser.

To make sure the mirror stayed in place I created a stand from chipboard covered in coordinating paper that was attached to the mirror and the dresser.

The drawers open to store the stamps, the paper dolls and clothes.

I stamped and colored 5 dolls and stamped and cut the clothes from coordinating paper. I plan on completely paper piecing the outfits at a later time.

This is a great project to give to any girl that loves fashion and needs something to do on an inside afternoon. The top drawer has room for a pair of scissors and a stamp pad so more dolls and clothes can be made when the fancy takes her.
I hope you liked this and make sure you looked at all the fabulous projects this week.

Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! with Lori Williams

Scor-Pals are great for making boxes and dimensional cards, but do you think about it for decorating your card stock?  Today I would love to share with you how simple it is to make custom patterned card stock.

Use your Scor-Pal to score the pattern you would like on your card stock.  I've used Core'dinations paper just so it will really show but you can use any card stock you like.

Sand all of your raised score lines to accent the pattern

I've topped off my card with an adorable stamp from Viva Las Vegas, Plate #1432.  I love Roosters so this was the perfect stamp set for me.

Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! Week with Jennie Harper

We have a fun week of inspiration to share with you today from Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! Hi Scor-Pal fans!  It's Jennie and I wanted to share a project I created for our Viva Las Vegastamps! ~ Scor-Pal Blog Week. Using a Scor-Pal, I created a card using the Faux Tile Technique.
Supplies:
Stamps: Viva Las Vegastamps!
Cardstock: Gina K. Designs
Adhesive: Scor-Tape
Scissors

Score a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of card stock at an angle at 1/2" increments.
Turn paper and repeat scoring every 1/2".
Stamp images to create a collage effect and rub scored/stamped panel using an ink pad (directly to the paper).
Then layer it onto card stock and adhere to card front.
Here is a close up of the technique:
Love the pop of this technique using my Scor-Pal to great deep grid lines! This is very easy to do and hope you will give it a try soon! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
Blessings,

Scor-pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! Week with Virginia Nebel

I love this wagon of pretty flowers by Viva Las VegaStamps.  It's a large enough stamp image that it can stand on it's own as a focal element for my card.  I stamped the image one time each on yellow floral pattern paper and brown card stock.  I used the Scor-pal to create a simple embossed border, fussy cut around the flowers,  popped it onto the wagon image and you have just made a pretty note card!

Supplies: Viva Las Vegas stamp, Echo Park pattern papers, Scor-pal tool

Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps! Week with Toni Storie

Hi, Toni here! It's my turn to share a Scor-Pal and Viva Las VegaStamps project. We will have a week long showing of some crafty goodness by both the Scor-Pal design team and the Viva Las Vegas creative team. I received some really fabulous stamp set with so many great images and sentiments.  I chose to show off this great image with a recessed window card.
For this project, you will need:
  • Ruler
  • Craft Knife
  • Stamps
  • Inks
  • Embellishments
  • 4 1/4" x 8 3/4" piece of card stock
  • Two 4" x 4" pieces of card stock
  • Two 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" pieces of card stock
  • Two 3" x 3" pieces of card stock
  • 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" piece of card stock
Place the 4 1/4" by 8 3/4" piece of card stock in your Scor-Pal.  The 8 3/4" piece will be against the top fence of the Scor-Pal.  Score at 4 1/4" and 4 1/2" marks.
Place a 3 1/4" by 3 1/4" piece of card stock where you want your recessed window.  Trace around the piece of card stock and remove it.
Place a 3" by 3" piece of card stock inside of the previously traced square.  Trace around the piece of card stock and remove it.
Insert your Scor-Mat in your Scor-Pal and place your card stock on top of it.  With a ruler and a craft knife make a cut from one corner to the opposite corner.  Repeat with the remaining two corners.
Score on the traced lines on each of the four sides.  The traced lines are 1/8" apart, so the scoring was completed with a Scor-Buddy
Turn your card stock over and crease the outside scores away from the center of the square.
Next, crease the inside scores toward the center of the square.  This creates a negative "X" shape and is the base of the recessed window.
Crease the scores made in the very first step to create the spine of the card.  The two scores make room for the recessed window and allow the card to lie flat.
With card open and recessed window on top, line the inside of the window with Scor-Tape
Remove backing from Scor-Tape and place a 3 1/4" by 3 1/4" piece of card stock into the recessed opening.
Stamp the Viva La Vegas Marilyn Monroe image in black and red on a 2 7/8" by 2 1/8" piece of card stock.  Overstamp the whole image with Versamark ink and emboss with clear embossing powder to create a sheen.  Mat the Marilyn image on a piece of 3" by 3" piece of card stock.  Adhere focal image into the recessed window.
Finish inside of card by covering the back of the recessed window with a 4" by 4" piece of card stock.  Cover the inside of the card with another 4" by 4" piece of card stock and stamp a Marilyn Monroe quote from the same Viva Las Vegas Stamps set.
Finish the outside of the card with a rhinestone frame.
Here is a view from the side to better show the recessed window in which Marilyn is framed.
Thanks for joining me today!
