Welcome to the 18th Monthly Challenge here at Scor-Pal!
We love showing our projects to you and now it's your chance to show your creations to us!
Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score"
We have a very current theme this month, "Birthday Celebrations and More Than One Score".
Please note that you MUST include the theme as well as "More Than One Score", some people are not following the theme and therefore are not eligible for a Top 3 spot or the Prize, thanks.
We have a nice set of samples from the Design Team, just click on their names to go to their blogs for more details on their creations.
The challenge ends at 10pm on August 31st and the new one starts on September 1st. Winners and our favorites will be revealed on September 5th.
This months featured Design Team member is Katie T so please go and take a look at her blog for a more detailed post on her project.

For my project I decided to make a simple gift box. But it's simplicity lends it to great decoration and also teaches you how easy it is to make boxes of differing sizes when only faced with 12" by 12" paper/
My box is 4 1/2" high, 6" wide and 3" deep.
Project Recipe:
Paper - K and Co
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Brass Sentiment - Recollections
Pearl Brads - The Eyelet Outlet
Ribbon - Really Reasonable Ribbon
Lace - Mon Ami Gabbi
Chalk Ink - Prima Chalk Edger in Brick Wall
Scoring Board - Scor-Pal
Adhesive - Scor-Tape
Start with a piece of cardstock 6" by 12" and score at 4 1/2" and 7 1/2" along the 12" side.
For the sides you need 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 5" by 5". Score at 1" and 4" on one side, make a quarter turn and score at 1/2"
Burnish and snip at the intersections as shown in the photo, this makes making a corners easier and much crisper.
Add Scor-Tape as shown in the photo
Add the sides to the matching lent of the larger piece of cardstock as shown
Create the sides as shown using your Scor-Tool to create the crisp corners by pushing it gently into the formed corners.
Attach the other sides of form the box
Decorate with patterned cardstock, chalk edges before adhering if using chalk ink
Cut strips to create the rosettes. I did 1 at 12" by 1 1/2" and 2 at 12" by 1". Use a border punch is you like to create a decorative edge, punch after initially cutting the strip before folding.
Score at 1/4" intervals all along the 12" strip and accordion fold to create the rosettes. Use a hot glue to create for strength.
Decorate the box as desired
There you go, a simple yet elegant little box to add a very special gift for a very special birthday!
