Pinspred with Patti!

Good morning!

I'm here today with a Pinspired project for the Scor-Pal blog. The Scor-Pal Design Team each take a month, and we find a project on Pinterest that inspires us to create!

This month, I'm your hostess, and I have been 'Pinspired' by this project by Sandra Ronald.

I made a whole lot of these for some special ladies at church!

Here are my boxes:

Cut your card stock to 9" x 6 1/4"

Score on the short side at 1/2", 1 3/4", 5"

I used my Scor-Pal Eighths (which I dearly love) to score my boxes.
(The dotted lines were drawn on, so you could see the scored lines)

Score the long side at 3", 4 1/4", 7 1/4" and 8 1/2"

Burnish all score lines

Cut as shown below.  The boxes with X's will be cut out entirely.

Round the corners on what will be your 'top flap'.

When it's cut out, it will look like this. Add some adhesive to your skinny tab on the side.

Of course, I used Scor-Tape 1/4" for this!

Flip your card stock over, and apply adhesive as shown.

Fold and create your box as shown.

OOPS! You should do this step BEFORE adhering box together!

Using a small circle punch, create a little half circle, to allow you to open

the box with your thumb or finger.  Mine was a wee bit tricky to do, as

I did it after the box was assembled... 

Finish your box, and decorate as desired!

Remember, your box won't have all of the creative pencil marks on it - I just used them so you could better see the scoring lines.

That's it!  I made all of these boxes in one evening, and you can too!

Mid Month Tutorial by Ruza

Good morning! Today I'm sharing the Candy Wrap Tutorial that I created for the October Scor-Pal Challenge.

I created this diagram to go with my instructions on how to make a Candy Wrap for a Hershey King Size Candy Bar; Actual Size of Candy Bar is 2-1/4”H x 1/2"W x 7”L.

To get the height:
Add the height of the bar to the width of the bar, double that number, and then add a bit extra for the closure flap. That gives you (2-1/4" + 1/2") x 2” = 5-1/2”. I added 1-1/2” to that which gave me 7”.

To get the length:

Take the length of the candy bar and added 1/2" to each side (the 1/2" represents the width of the candy bar). That gives you 7” + 1/2" + 1/2” = 8”.

The paper size for a Hershey King Size Bar that you will need to make the candy wrap is: 7”H x 8”W

Now comes the instructions for making the candy bar wrap.
• With the 8” side of your cardstock at the top of your scoreboard - Score at 1/2" and 7-1/2”.
• With the 7” side of your cardstock at the top of your scoreboard - Score at 2-1/4”, 2-3/4”, 5” and 5-1/2”.
• Burnish all of the Score lines.
• Cut the Score Lines for the entire section(s) highlighted in yellow. This section become your closure flap.
• The arrows shown above point at the Score Lines that need to be cut; these lines are only cut to the 1/2" mark, as shown in red.
• Add your desired adhesive to the grey area. I used 3/8” Scor-Tape.
• Next you will fold the 1/2" tabs towards the center; bring the two (2) 2-1/4” sides up, remove your Scor-Tape, then fold the side with the Scor-Tape over the other flap to form a pocket.
• Decorate as desired.

I took the pictures below while I was making the Candy Wrap for the Hershey King Size Bar.

Using basic math and the same concept, I then made the Candy Wrap for a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups (2) and a Ghirardelli Square.

Material used to create today's projects: - Scor-Pal Eighths Board, 1/4" Scor-Tape, 3/8" Scor-Tape, 3/4" Foam Tape

Scor-Pal More than One Score Challenge #53 Fall/Harvest/Halloween

Welcome to the 53rd Monthly Challenge here at Scor-Pal!
We love showing our projects to you and now it's your chance to show your creations to us!
This month we want to see your creations with a Fall/Harvest/Halloween theme!
Each month we will have a different theme and you will have a month to create and enter your projects. As well as the theme you will need to make "More Than One Score" and tell us where you used the Scor-Pal on your project. So a single fold card won't count but an Easel, Gatefold, Stair Step, etc will :) Also we love to see your "Anything But a Card" projects, just as long as you make "More Than One Score"

We have a ton of inspiration on our Projects on the Scor-Pal website and also on our Pinterest Board to get you eager to enter.

6. Each challenge will last from the 1st day of the month until 10pm on the last day of that month.

* "More Than One Score" means that a single scored fold card (ie: a simple square or rectangle) with no additional use of the Scor-Pal tool will not count as an entry.
