I made a cute Birdhouse that can be used as a gift box.
Project Recipe:
Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal
Mat - Scor-Mat
Adhesive - Scor-Tape
Paper - My Minds Eye
Fence Border Punch - Fiskars
Loop Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Flower Die - Ellentina
Frame Die - Nellies
Flourish Die - Elegant Scrollwork by Memorybox
Ink - Inx Chox
Paint - Smooch
Spray - Smooch Spritz
Embossing Powder - Mix'd Media Inx in Chiffon, Honey and Peridot
For the sides of the birdhouse you need to 2 pieces of card stock measuring 6" by 5"
The base is 4" square
The front and back are 4" by 6"
For the sides score and 1" and 5" along the 6" side and at 1" on the 5" side.
Snip the corner as in the photo to form the flap that will create the base of the side and add Scor-Tape to adhere
Form the sides as shown in the photo using your Scor-Tool to create tight, crisp corners.
Add the 4" square base to the two sides.
Create the front and back by cutting at an angle from a 2" point on each long side to the center point (2") on the short side as in the photo.
Using a nesting style die cut a window in the front panel and then nest two together to cut a frame to go around the window and attach using Scor-Tape
Ink all edges with the Mix'd Media Inx pad
Attach the front and back panels to the flaps on the side pieces to form the birdhouse.
When I created mine I added an additional base (5" by 4" scored at 1/2" and 4 1/2" along the 5" side) to the inside in the opposite direction of the original base to give more stability
The roof is made from a piece of coordinating card stock measuring 6" by 8". Score at 4" along the 8" side and at 1" and 5" along the 6" side. Burnish the score lines and snip at the 4" score line to the intersecting score as in the photo to create the angle to make the roof. Ink all edges if desired.
Adhere the corners with Scor-Tape and use your Scor-Tool on the inside corners to create crisp corners.
The roof sits perfectly on the birdhouse
To decorate the flower I created some embossed flowers from flower dies, clear embossing ink, the Mix'd Media Inx Embossing Powder in Chiffon and my heat gun.
You can see the great enamel look the embossing powder gives to the flower>
For added sparkle I added some Smooch Spritz to the flowers.
Using the same technique I then created an enamelled punched edge and also flourishes.
I also punched strips for the roof to resemble a tiled look.
I hope you enjoyed this, sorry for the photo overload but I didn't want you to miss anything :)
