Summer Greetings! When I heard that Heartfelt Creations and Scor-pal were teaming up I shouted a huge WOOT! I am a die cut girl at heart so choosing a die set from the plethora of beautiful products at Heartfelt Creation's website was a huge challenge! After many clicks and refreshes of my computer screen I chose the Perfect Medley leaves and the matching Perfect Petals die cut set.
I love the simplicity of the pretty petals yet they are so versatile to create other shapes. My mind went right to the feather motif using some of the larger petals.
Card Supplies: Heartfelt Creations, Scor-pal tool, Echo Park pattern papers, Maya Road pin, Twinery twine.
To transform a pretty petal into a feather diecut a petal from kraft card stock. Make score lines down the center and at angles with the Scor-pal tool. It's nature so you don't have to be perfect with the scoring.
With scissors, cut random slits around the edge and you have just created a feather. These would also be great palm leaves if you were to use green card stock.
Another motif from nature I love is the butterfly which I made from a few smaller sized petals.
Card Supplies: Heartfelt Creations, Scor-Tape, Crate Paper trims
Here's how I made the butterfly:
Stamped and cut out 2 petals each from the 2nd and 3rd smallest petals (these are the butterfly wings). Apply some scor-pal tape to white cardstock and cut out the smallest petal (this is the butterfly's body)
Peel away the tape liner to expose the sticky surface and place the wings on the body.
After the wings are on the body, pour glitter over the remaining exposed sticker surface. Decorate the body with jewel brad and some twine.
Hope you enjoyed some fresh news ways to transform petals into other pretty shapes.
Have a wonderful day! Virginia

What a versatile stamp/die! Great job on the cards.
Before I knew those were petals I thought they looked like bulbs for a string of Christmas lights!

Beautiful cards. Thanks for sharing.
Love how you accented those leaves with the Scor Pal. And your butterfly is adorable. Great job,
