I'd like to share with you a squash book I created to celebrate the Holiday season. This is a very easy project to make and is so much fun as it opens to reveal photos and journaling to tell your story. My inspiration for this project comes from the squash book tutorial found on the Scor-pal website.
Supplies:
Echo Park pattern paper, Bazzill card stock, Scor-tape, Scor-pal tool, Creative Memories circle punch, Accucut die
I changed it up a bit by changing the base dimension of the squash book and I used a pretty scalloped square which is smaller than the base for the 'squashed' parts.
1) Take 9 x 9 inch square and score evenly into quarters at the 4.5 inch marks, then mountain fold along the diagonal from left to right.
2) Take 7 x 7 inch square scallop and score into quarters evenly at the 3.5 inch marks. Mountain fold on the diagonal from left to right. Repeat again for second scallop square.
3) Place the two smaller scallop squares as shown and adhere using Scor-tape to the larger base.
The two smaller squares squash into the book when closed. You are now ready to decorate and embellish your squash book.
Tip: when embellishing the triangle sections, your tags can overlap the fold line without gluing it down so that it will fold up with the section is 'squashed' up.
Hope you enjoyed the project and have fun making your own squash books!
