Now for today's projects from Scor-pal Designer Diane Zechman

Today I will be sharing my projects that were featured on the Scor-pal blog. Of course, if you missed this project or any of the other great projects from the Scor-pal team you’ll want to hop on over there and see what’s been going on. Be sure to leave comments on each post from this week for a chance to win some great prizes. I made two cards for the hop using the Scor-Pal and Doodlebug's Colorwheel collection. These papers are so bright and fun.

For my first card I decided to make some box pleats with a floral patterned strip. The pleated paper was attached to the cardfront with Scor-Tape on a curve.

 I started with a 1 1/2" x 12" strip of paper and scored it in alternating increments of 1" and 1/2". So, I scored @ 1, 1 1/2, 2 1/2, 3, 4, 4 1/2, 5 1/2, 6, 7, 7 1/2, 8 1/2, 9, 10, 10 1/2, and 11 1/2. Mountain and Valley fold the strip to form the box pleats. Here's a side view of what it will look like:

The card was finished with coordinating paper, stickers, and rub-ons. For the second card I pleated the paper again...this time I made a simple knife pleat on a larger piece for a background. I love how after I pleated the paper, it still lined up to create complete circles!

I started with a 3 3/4 x 12 inch piece of paper. Again, I used alternating increments of scored lines...this time I used 1" and 1/4". So, I scored @ 1, 1 1/4, 2 1/4, 2 1/2, 3 1/2, 3 3/4, etc. Scor-Tape was used across the back to hold the pleats in place and adhere the panel to the card. Some Doodlebug Twine, a brad, additional paper, and rub-ons were added to finish the card.

I also doodled on the flower I punched from the Doodlebug papers. ;) Be sure to check out all the projects from this week on the Scor-Pal and Doodlebug blogs!

paper- white, Doodlebug Colorwheel Essentials Kit; accessories- Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape, Ric rac, SU! Scallop Edge punch, Doodlebug twine, brad, and alpha rub-ons, EK Success Retro Flower punch.
