Now for today's projects from Scor-pal Designer Gini Cagle
This week the Design Teams from Scor-pal and Doodlebug Design have teamed up to bring you some cheerful inspiration.
It's always a challenge for me to find fancy fold cards that I haven't made, and I happened to find the Double Dutch Fold card tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers. I didn't change any of the measurements, so it will be easy for you to follow along from their tutorial. And the marks on the Scor-Pal make this a very easy card to put together.
Let's talk about the front of the card - For the focal point, I used the trees from the sheet of Hello Spring - Double Sided Cute Cuts. This already had the trees printed on it, but, I used the matching Sugar Coated Cardstock Stickers over the trees, to give it more dimension. All of the color coordinated accesories in this collection are really fun! I didn't want to overwhelm the card with too many pearls (did that really just come from my mouth?!!!) - so, I just added matching Spring Mini Pearls to the glittery dots on my patterned paper.
To keep my lower "gates" closed, I used the Hello Spring Shaped Brads on each side, and wrapped Doodle Twine Bright Assortment to tie them closed.
Now for the fun part of the card -the inside!
I stamped/paper pieced the house from Doodlebug Designs/ Hampton Art Home Sweet Home stamp set. My flowers are the Spring Boutique Buttons with Doodle Twine for the stems.
When you open the gates, you find the sentiment.
The Cute Cuts had a banner - but it wasn't the sentiment I wanted to use. So, after I removed the banner from the sheet, I used the punched out area for a template to draw the shape onto the blue polka dotted paper. I stamped "welcome" from the You Said It Clear stamps set, repeatedly across the banner and then cut it out. With an exacto knife, I cut away the original sentiment from the banner, and just left the pink and white frame. I glued the two parts together and had the perfect sentiment for my card.
I hope my card has brightened your day!
Love the cards today! I am enjoying The Doodlebug and ScorePal projects this week.

Beautiful card. Thank you for sharing it with us. I am new to scoring stuff on my own. I recently tried adding scoring to my scrapbook layouts in a Core'dinations online Crop last week. My attempts are on my blog http://ml-stepbystep.blogspot.ca/2012/07/13-main-challenges-for-hard-core-online.html
ReplyDeleteI have been "browsing" scoring projects for a while thinking some day I would like to try them. This caught my eye this morning: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150326156301183&set=o.144017695669446&type=3&theater , partly because my 2 year old little girl loves butterflies, or maybe it is just me making her love them!
Thank you again for the chance to win some scor-products!
