Today's first project comes from Scor-pal Designer Virginia Nebel
With the holiday season around the corner I am thinking this is a good time to start some holiday card making! I'll be using Hampton Art's Doodlebug journal seals and the Scor-pal tool to make paper ribbon accents.
Supplies: Hampton Art Doodlebug Journal Seals #IC0159, Colorbox inks- Limeade, Swimming Pool
My Mind's Eye pattern paper, Lifestyle Crafts Penguin Die
a) Score a 12 x 1 in pattern paper at 1.5, 2, 3, 3.5, 4.5, 5, 7, 7.5, 8.5, 9, 10, 10.5 inches as shown:
b) Starting from the left edge, fold pleats starting with a valley fold until you reach the 5 inch score line. Starting at the 7 inch score line, fold pleats starting with a mountain fold until you reach the end. You should have a pleated ribbon with a 2 inch wide center which is the perfect size to fit one of the stamp seals.
c) Unfold your ribbon pleats and place a little piece of Scor-tape in the 1/2 inch intervals and then refold to secure the pleats together. Cut a 'v' at the ends. The ends will curl up a bit until you glue the ribbon permanently to your project. On my card, I matted the ribbon on a slightly larger rectangle pattern paper.
d) To mass produce pleated ribbons, score a 12 x 12 pattern paper first, then apply Scor-tape down the 1/2 intervals. Cut ribbon widths as you desire and you have them ready as needed!

For my project for the Scor-Pal meets Hampton Art week I decided to make an album based on one I saw a friend of mine make. She had taken a class and I only got a quick look and so I had to find my way around making it and I hope you like it!
Supplies:
Stamps - Best Thing is Each Other, Bless Beyond Measure and Too Much of a Good Thing all by Hampton Art
Inks - Blackbird Chalk, Popcorn Chalk and Dye Ink Seattle Sky all by Hampton Art
Papers and Accents - Graphic 45
Adhesive - Scor-Tape
Start with a piece of card stock measuring 12" by 9". Line up the long side at the top fence of the Scor-Pal and score at 5 3/4" and 6 1/4" and burnish the score lines.
I cut the calendar accents from the paper and inked each edge with the Seattle Sky ink
I used the Blackbird to stamp the sentiments and inked the edges again
For the inserts for the album you need to start with card stock measuring 8" by 5 1/2". Line up the 5 1/2" side to the top fence of the Scor-Pal and score at 1/2". Rotate to the longer 8" side and score at 2 1/4" and 5 3/4". Burnish all score lines.
Use a circle punch to make a semicircle in the center of the top side (as in the photo) to form a finger hold. Create the "gift card envelope" using Scor-Tape
for a firm hold.
Complete for 12 envelopes (one for each month) and decorate as desired.
Add Scor-Tape to the bottom edges (under the score line) so you can attach the envelopes to the album (six on each side of the score lines)
After attaching the envelopes to the cover add patterned paper to cover the inside cover over the ends as in the photo.
Smooth the patterned paper to seal in the ends of the envelopes.
This is how the envelopes look when attached on both sides.
Decorate the front and make a band to hold the album closed.
This is how it looks inside when complete.
Each envelope holds a calendar insert and it would be a great gift.
This is just so kewl love the pull out calendars, has the vintage feeling to it too
