Deadline for entering is 8am Central, Monday, October 29.

Our first project comes from Scor-pal Designer Jennie Harper:

I am excited to be sharing my first Scor-Pal project today! This week the design teams from Scor-Pal and DCWV have teamed up to bring you some fabulous inspiration.

For my project today, I used The Autumn Melody Stack patterned paper and The Autumn Melody Cardstock Stack to create a gift bag and matching card.

Using a Scor-Pal and a 12 x 12 -inch piece of scrapbooking paper, score two lines: 3" and 9"

Turn scrapbook paper 90˙and score at 5" and 7" (these score marks will form the base of your bag) and fold at score marks using scor-tool to make nice crisp fold line.

Starting with one of the intersections in the center that you just folded, fold the paper towards you at an angle, see picture....

The left side needs to fold down up to the edge so it is straight. Repeat on all four sides to make a bottom for the bag.

When all four are folded it will look like this:

To secure the edges, add some 1/4" Scor-Tape.

*Tip - I add scor-tape wherever two pieces of paper meet to keep it from gaping when paper is folded.

To add a top to the bag, I used coordinating card stock and trimmed it 2 1/2 x nearly 6 inches and scored at 1 1/4". Then I trimmed it to fit perfectly and folded it over the top adhering with Scor-Tape (repeat on the back).

I added a scallop border and embellishment using dies/stickers.

I made a handle for the bag by cutting a two pieces of card stock 1 1/2 x 12 and using Scor-Tape taped them together so the inside of the paper did not show, it also added sturdiness to the handle.

And here is the final project along with a card featuring a rosette.

This was a lot of fun to make and hope this is something you will try!

Next up, Scor-pal Designer Gini Cagle

The papers from DCWV's Autumn Melody stacks are wonderful to create any type of fall project and when paired with the  Scor-Pal, the ideas are endless.  This book card opens to reveal a shadow box feature as well as a handy pocket.

To get started, cut the following from a very heavy paper:
(2)  8" x 4.5"
(2)  8" x 6"

For each panel of paper, align  the long side against the top fence of the Scor-Pal.  Score at every inch.  Do this for all 4 panels of paper and accordion pleat them.

Ink the edges of all the folds.Interlock the folds, with the two longer panels running vertically and the shorter panels horizontally.  Glue each section together, in the corner intersections,  to form a rectangle.

Cut a sheet of brown cardstock from the Autumn Melody Cardstock pad - 6 3/4" x 10 3/4 ".  With the long side along the top of the Scor-Pal, score at 5" and 5 3/4".  Add patterned paper to the back of the frame using Scor-tape.

Cut 4 strips of paper from the wood grained patterned paper -
(2) 4 1/2 x 1 1/4
(2)  6 x 1 1/4

Arrange these panels on top of the accordion book frame, to form a frame with mitered corners. (See how to use your Scor-pal to easily align this in the photo below.)

Decorate the inside and outside panels as you desire.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Don't forget to stop back tomorrow for more projects and to enter to win this week's prize!
