This week the Scor-pal Designers are excited to be sharing some last minute gift ideas using product from our friends at Jillibean Soup.
You'll want to stop by each day this week for new ideas and to leave a comment. Next Monday we will choose one random comment from the week to win a Scor-buddy. Which is perfect for creating last minute gifts or even a gift for the special crafter in your life.
Also, be sure and stop by the Scor-pal Fan Page and leave a comment as well because we will be giving away a Scor-Tape prize pack over there to someone who left a comment both there *and* on the blog. Because, after all, when you are making special gifts you want them to stay together and you want the best ;)
First off today we have Score-pal Designer Katie Tate:
Project Recipe:
Papers - Jillibean Soup
Scoring Tool - Scor-Pal
Border Punches - Martha Stewart
Sentiment - Studio G
I decided to make a matching set of mini thank you cards with envelopes in a coordinating gift box.
The Jillibean papers are so cute and the matching embellishment work great for the 3" square cards. I trimmed the journaling mats so the images fit perfectly.
Inside I added a mat for your thanks and stamped a cute sentiment across the bottom.
The envelopes are a breeze to make with the Scor-Pal. You start with a square of cardstock 5 1/4" and place it at a diamond angle on the Scor-Pal with the top corner in the 3 3/4" point, the left corner will meet the 3 1/2" mark on the left side of the board. Score at 2", turn so the top point is at the left side, score again at 2" and repeat so all 4 sides are scored. Burnish the score lines to form the envelope.
And, last but not least, our final project from Scor-pal Designer Julie Koerber.
Julie's project features products from the Heartly Barley collection, which the Scor-pal team also received, and is perfect for any occasion.
Hi all! "Soup" anyone? Jillibean Soup of course! The gals at Scor-pal have teamed up all week with Jilllibean Soup for a fun-filled hop showcasing a sampling of projects you can create when you match up these fun paper and embellishments with one very essential scoring tool! Today, I will be finishing out the week with one last fin and easy project.
When I first laid eyes on the Hearty Barley collection from Jillibean Soup, I knew I wanted to think ahead to Valentine's Day for this project. I know. I know. It's hard to think Valentine's Day when we haven't even celebrated Christmas yet, but trust me, you'd want to play if you saw this darling collection too!
The inspiration for my creation all started here...
This darling paper is called Beef Broth and when I looked at it, I saw a set of "love notes" that I could slip in my hubby's brief case from time to time! Aren't they cute? So, I started by cutting these notes apart and rounding the corners on all of the little cards. And, this is what I ended up with...
From here, I wanted to create a matchbook style cover to stick my love notes inside! I started with a 3-1/2" strip of paper called Fresh Mushrooms. It's a darling wood grain.
This is the base for my matchbook style note holder. From there --the embellishing began! this is the fun part if you ask me! I used this die cut sheet called Pea Pods below for all of the accents on my holder...
And this below is how my holder turned out!
I also added a button from the collection called Cool Beans, some Maraschino colored twine from the Twinery. Here's a closeup! You can see how I used one of the frames and sentiments, a punched border and one of the fun index cards. I love how no matter what you do -- it's all color coordinated!
And here's a peek at how my cards fit inside. The punched border ends up holding the flap from the front down when it tucks down inside....
And that, my friends, is it! I darling little love note holder to dig into when you want to tuck some hugs and kisses in a briefcase, or leave them next to the morning coffee! ;-)
Love it all! So cute!!
